Most of Japanese are Buddhists and we have many Buddhism temples all over our country especially in 京都(きょうと-kyouto) and 奈良(なら-nara) Areas.
In Japanese Kanji we write “仏教(ぶっきょう-bukkyou)” for Buddhism and “仏教徒(ぶっきょうと-bukkyouto)” for Buddhist. The kanji “仏” means Buddha and “教” means doctrine (even though this kanji has many other meanings).
